An introduction to the concepts and techniques of relief printmaking and the aesthetic issues within traditional printmaking practices. Students will evaluate visual art within historical and contemporary contexts. Students will develop image-making and studio processes skills through several printmaking projects. Reading, discussions, and demonstrations will support this development. Students will discuss, analyze, and critique their original drawings and 2D design work with a group of their peers using standard critique procedures.
