This course concentrates on preparing students for the listening and speaking needed in the American college classroom. You will develop efficient note-taking skills for classroom lectures and skills for giving presentations. An examination of American English as spoken in college classrooms further develops proficiency necessary for successful college work. This course also reviews American English in terms of intonation, rhythm, stress, and emphasis. Prerequisite: Placement test scores or grade of "C" or better in EAP 0880
