Provides an educationally directed field experience for students during their first semester in a field agency. Students will engage in generalist practice skills working with vulnerable and oppressed populations and begin foundational development and application of problem-solving, assessment, intervention and evaluation. The course is designed for graduate-level social work students and involves a monthly seminar experience in conjunction with the agency work. Instructional methods may include but are not limited to presentations, experiential learning activities, discussion boards, online activities, seminar workshops, synchronous and asynchronous lectures.
