Provides doctoral students with leadership experiences emphasizing on development of a practitioner who assumes an independent role in providing anesthesia care. Student clinical assignments are focused on surgical specialty services to focus on aspects of anesthesia nursing care to that specialty. Clinical conferences focus on specialty service case reviews, mortality and morbidity reviews, and case presentations. A journal club will be a component part of the clinical conference related to surgical specialty topics.
