Provides the central concepts of physiology and pathologic mechanisms of disease that serve as a major component in the foundation for clinical assessment and management of individuals across the lifespan. The focus of the course is on etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, evaluation, and treatment of commonly encountered acute and chronic clinical conditions. Evidence-based research regarding pathological changes in disease states is synthesized and applied to current advanced nursing practice.
