Provides a survey of mathematics aimed at developing skills in the use of numbers, number patterns and operations with numbers for preservice teachers of grades PK-4. Problem solving, sets and number systems are emphasized. Other topics covered are patterns and sequences, elementary number theory and historic number systems. Problem solving methods and manipulatives are used where appropriate. This includes a 2-credit recitation providing just-in-time review of algebraic concepts in support of the content in MATH110.
