Introduces theories and principles concerning motor control and learning, emphasizing neurophysiological and neuromechanical factors related to motor control and behavior in skill acquisition. Emphasis is placed on the application of knowledge in movement neuroscience such as the results of research on neuromotor functioning and neural control of voluntary movement, the role of the central nervous system, and the character of peripheral neuromuscular and sensory systems in planning, initiating, executing, and monitoring voluntary movements.
