Develops communicative language proficiency at the Novice-High and Intermediate-Low sublevels (according to ACTFL proficiency scale) as well as develops the ability to understand and appreciate German-speaking cultures. A communicative method is applied to develop the four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) in an intercultural content. This includes the use of authentic audio-visual materials introducing the German-speaking world, situational communicative practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing, and laboratory activities.
