Concepts addressing academic, career, and social-emotional development of students are explored. An introduction to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model is provided with a focus on the history and philosophy of school counseling and an introduction to ethical and legal issues that involve school counselor advocacy, leadership, and systemic change.
