Introduces foundational ideas related to theory and surveys theories of Communication Studies, both general theories and those specific to particular contexts such as interpersonal communication, rhetorical theory, organizational communication theory, and culture and communication. A wide range of readings reflects the multi-disciplinary nature of contemporary Communication Studies. This is a survey course for all students in the major and any student interested in learning more about theory within the field of Communication Studies.
