Develops comprehensive language skills through intensive practice and immersion in cultural, historical, and daily-life contexts. CHIN492 stresses listening skills, develops communicative language proficiency at the Advanced-low level (according to ACTFL proficiency scale) as well as develops the ability to understand and appreciate Chinese cultures through reading. CHIN492 is a study-abroad course. Students must take this course at Beijing Normal University or an equivalent institution approved by the Department of Languages and Cultures.
