Offered as a study-abroad course. Students take this course at Beijing Normal University or an equivalent institution approved by the Department of Languages and Cultures. Develops comprehensive language skills through intensive practice and immersion in cultural, historical, and daily-life contexts. CHIN490 stresses conversational skills, develops communicative language proficiency at the Advanced-low level (according to ACTFL proficiency scale) as well as develops the ability to understand and appreciate Chinese-speaking cultures.
