Description:

Provides a deeper understanding and critical appraisal of nursing research for application to evidence-based practice. Application of the steps of evidence based nursing practice is stressed. The proper formulation of Population Intervention Comparison Outcome Time (PICOT) questions, learning how to search relevant databases for evidence, critically appraising the evidence, and synthesizing the research findings are all emphasized. Development of a plan for implementation of the evidence and/or for generating additional evidence to improve nursing practice is addressed.
