Description:
Engage in and explore two- and three-dimensional fabric sewing techniques with a variety of fabrics, materials and thread. Course content includes but, is not limited to: low water immersion dye techniques and chemistry; art quilts: fabric fusion, complex piecing, reverse applique, thread weight and quilting; hand embroidery; machine embroidery; creating thread fabric and sculpture using stitch dissolve techniques. Studio sessions include extended interaction with sewing materials and methods, group and individual critiques, demonstrations and lecture.
