Description:
This course provides a deeper understanding of the mathematical and physical properties of chemistry and their application to biochemical systems. The core aspects of biophysical chemistry will be investigated including the thermodynamics and kinetics of biochemical reactions and metabolic pathways as well as the application of spectroscopic techniques to study biological molecules. Upon completion of this one semester course, students will have a better understanding of how scientists use physical chemistry to investigate physiochemical processes and reactions within living systems.
