The objective of this course is to introduce and explain the social circumstances and cultural contributions of African Americans as it relates to arts expression, leadership, and its intersections with gender. The students will be exposed to African American history, culture, and leadership through elements such as literature, science, film, language, theater, and service learning. The course focuses on intersections of gender, history, and identity within a contemporary framework and its expression through several mediums. This course supports the academic development and leadership abilities among males of color.
