This course introduces students to the fundamentals of print and printing methods. Topics include the development of graphic symbols, alphabets, and the first printing press; contemporary pre-press and printing technologies, such as screen printing, flexographic printing, and gravure; digital printing and computer type. Four required field trips are scheduled during the semester. Transportation is provided if needed. Recommendation(s): Concurrently enrolled in GRPD 1015, GRPD 1017, and GRPD 1061
