This course is an expansion of concepts covered in Introduction to Ceramics. Topics and lessons are designed to expand technical skills and design concepts in levels of greater complexity. Coursework includes functional and nonfunctional applications, glazing techniques, effects and functions of various clay bodies, firing procedures, and studio safety. In addition, the course includes the diverse history of ceramic art and pottery, including contemporary trends and movements. Prerequisite(s): ART 1071 with a grade of C or higher Recommendation(s): ART 1025
