Introduces students to methods, strategies, and issues that are related to teaching social studies at the upper-elementary level. Students design standards-based units of instruction that strengthen and develop elementary students' content knowledge and skills in the social studies disciplines. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisite: HST 209 and admission to pedagogical content knowledge for elementary teaching (PCKET) major.
