Radiation therapy involves the use of ionizing radiation to treat malignancies and benign conditions, either curatively or palliatively. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the radiation therapist with the nature of ionizing radiation that allows it to be exploited for its desired characteristics while minimizing potentially undesirable effects. Offered fall semester. Prerequisite: Admission to the radiation therapy program.
