This course introduces the basic concepts of electrochemistry. Course content builds upon chemical reactivity to include electron transfer and electromotive force. Topics focus on electroanalytical methods, energy storage electrochemistry, and chemical/electrical energy conversion. Applications to advanced energy systems will also be discussed. Offered fall semester of even-numbered years. Prerequisites: CHM 115 and one of (PHY 221, PHY 231, or PHY 234); or permission of instructor.
