Examines theories and methods for supporting early language and literacy for ages birth to kindergarten. Culturally and developmentally relevant assessment, curriculum, and pedagogy are emphasized. Specific attention paid to the role of oral language, developmental trajectories, and the importance of inclusive language and literacy rich environments. Offered winter semester.
