Explores the trajectory of dying in America from multiple perspectives and disciplines. Content will be presented from theoretical, sociocultural, and political frameworks as they apply to care of those with life-limiting disease and palliative and/or hospice care within the U.S. health care system. Ethical, legal, and socio-cultural dilemmas will be examined. Offered fall semester. Prerequisite: Postbaccalaureate standing or permission of instructor.
