In this course, students will have hands-on experience creating web applications with interactive maps combining different types of geospatial data. The fundamental technology behind web maps - including capabilities and limitations - will be explained, including relevant geospatial systems, server software, data sources, and web development languages (i.e., HTML, CSS, JavaScript). No prior programming language experience is needed for this course. Students will gain valuable experience in creating web GIS applications, and will be ready to apply their knowledge in academic and professional fields.
