This is a course about the social relations of our food system: how we produce, distribute, prepare and consume our food. Students will explore topics of culture, identity, and history as well as the effects of our food system on public health, social inequality, and the environment on both a local and global level. Students will also explore alternatives to the current food system. (Prereq: Qualifying score on reading assessment test OR ENGL0921 and Recommended: Qualifying score on writing assessment test OR ENGL0960.
