This course focuses on the practical and theoretical concepts of human communication and the styles of communication used in academic, social and professional environments. Students will learn the characteristics and process of interpersonal communication including perception, speech and language, non-verbal behaviors, listening and feedback, conflict recognition and resolution, small group dynamics, the ethics of interpersonal communication and relationship development and maintenance. In this course you will learn to communicate more effectively in all settings. (Prereq: Qualifying score on reading assessment test OR ENGL0921.
