The student will gain knowledge and skills related to providing age appropriate learning experiences and environments for young children (birth-age 8). The student will examine the role of the teacher in providing learning experiences to meet each child's needs, capabilities, and interests, and ways to implement the principles of developmentally appropriate practices. The student will explore how to plan environments and select materials that provide play experiences that support development, independence, and exploration through sequential and integrated learning. (Prereq: Qualifying score on writing assessment test OR ENGL0960) (BP/EP) 3 cr
