Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) is more commonly referred to as STICK welding. This course consists of approximately 20 hours in the classroom learning SMAW theory with the balance of time developing hands-on SMAW skill with practice in the welding lab. The focus will be on learning and practicing proper welding techniques for flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead welding positions. Essential welding gear is included and participants will have the opportunity to test to the AWS D1.1 qualification.
