This course is designed to give personnel the essential knowledge, skills and abilities to function on the fireground as a member of a Rapid Intervention Team. Staffing the RIT, searching for missing firefighters, accessing and assessing the downed firefighter rescue/removal procedures, and integrated exercises. Note: This class is physically demanding. Students participating in the program should be in good physical condition. No facial hair that will interfere with seal of the SCBA face piece will be allowed. Students must wear long sleeved shirts during all live-fire exercise. Prerequisites: Rapid Intervention Teams (RITC, 3-hr class) and Essentials of Firefighting or Fire Operations Module D.
