Description:

Prepares students to deliver therapy to patients prior to their arrival in hospital emergency rooms. Students are trained in life-support procedures performed by following orders of physicians sent by radio or through following standard medical protocols. This course emphasizes medical emergencies involving OB/GYN, toxicology, hematology, pediatrics and psychiatric problems. Students complete specialty rotations in OB and anesthesia, as well as field externships. Students must have a current Pennsylvania or National Registry AEMT certificate. This course is the third course within the four-course Paramedic certificate.
