Description:

Prepares students to deliver therapy to patients prior to their arrival in hospital emergency rooms. Students are trained in life support procedures performed by following orders of physicians, which are sent by radio or through following standard medical protocols. This course emphasizes patient assessment, shock and fluid therapy, pharmacology, and field communications. Students also begin Emergency Department clinical time. Students must have a current Pennsylvania or National Registry AEMT certificate. This course is one of the four courses students take within the Paramedic certificate.
