Provides individuals that are entering a supervisory role, or have been in a supervisory role, with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in building and leading a team, particularly during times of change or chaos. The 8-week course is designed to present students with holistic and well-rounded experience that outlines the broader scope of responsibilities as well as essential behaviors and thinking patterns leaders need to effectively manage their employees, units and/or departments. The coursework is structured to allow individuals to explore several topic areas each week that cumulatively builds over the 8 weeks to eventually create an understanding of an organization???s ??big picture?? strategy, vision, and goals. Using a blended format that encompasses in-person instruction (remote facilitator unless otherwise noted) and online resources and activities, this series provides a solid framework and foundation to obtain creative and established leadership skills. Typical in-person sessions are approximately 2.5 hours (including appropriate break sessions) that can be presented in-person or via a Zoom platform and are held one to two times a week. All course materials are presented by HACC instructors who are highly qualified individuals with a combination of professional industry experience, certifications, and education for engaging interactions and professional facilitation of the course.
