The second cooperative education experience will provide students with an enhanced hands-on experience in industry. Learners gain practical experience, enhance skills gained in the classroom, and acquire contacts with professionals in business. This course requires students to complete 480 hours in the field, be evaluated by their supervisor and prepare a report. Students must be approved prior to beginning their co-op and should have a Q.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. This is a Pass/Fail course. Prerequisite: BMGT 280 & BMGT 380. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: (1) Enhance their learning through the combination of theory and practical application by fusing work experience with classroom study. (2) Develop maturity, responsibility, self-dependence and enhanced interpersonal skills. (3) Understand and contribute to the organization's goals; understand and work within the culture of the group; plan and make decisions with others and support the outcomes. (4) Heighten their motivation to excel both in the workplace and the classroom. (5) Describe experiences via periodic reports and professional journals while developing technical knowledge by using state-of-the-art equipment. (6) Present projects including portfolios and evaluations resulting in comprehensive final reports. (7) Recognize the importance of ethical behavior in the workplace and develop a greater maturity.
