Description:
This senior capstone is a performance project that synthesizes a student's skills in performance, communication, and scholarship utilizing research, analysis, interpretation, rehearsal, meetings with a faculty advisor, production director or other artistic staff, written components, and culminating in a performance. Topics and theatrical forms are negotiable (devised work, original play, etc.), as is exploration/collaboration with additional disciplines (dance, design, etc.) or professional employment/internship. Prerequisites: By permission of instructor. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Demonstrate proficiency in researching, organizing, rehearsing and presenting a performance. (2) Identify and articulate a cohesive performance process. (3) Demonstrate collaborative skills as intrinsic to the performance process.
