Description:
This course will focus on special topics in voice and speech with an emphasis in preparing the student for the professional world. Areas of specialization may include voice over technique, Alexander work, or other topics suitable for advanced level study. For performance majors only. Prerequisites: THEA 413; minimum "C" grade in THEA 304, 305. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: (1) Demonstrate the various skills of the voice-over artist. (2) Know the various aspects of the professional voice-over industry. (3) Demonstrate a voice warm up to be used for rehearsal and performance. (4) Demonstrate basic recording technique. (5) Integrate voice/speech skills with acting skills. (6) Demonstrate good postural alignment and breath work.
