Description:
This is an advanced level course that helps the actor synthesize their stage movement training. Special topics may include stage combat, and may also include demonstrating specific techniques, and non-naturalistic styles, among others. Prerequisite: Minimum C grade in THEA 312. Open to BFA acting majors only, or by permission. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Compose, collaborate, and communicate with fellow students to effectively create ensemble performances using their physical tools as means of expression and purpose. (2) Identify and demonstrate various theories of Theatrical Stage Movement. (3) Demonstrate advanced movement techniques as an effective means of expression while creating personal connections to the physical side of acting. (4) Recognize and develop the physical attributes of self and scripted characters.
