This course is designed to provide teacher candidates with the philosophies and practices in the development and education of special needs children from birth to 12. Instructional content and design will detail the cognitive, social, emotional, physical, motor, language, and literacy growth children make as they progress on a developmental continuum through the primary grades. Teacher candidates will develop instructional strategies and techniques that effectively promote student learning for special needs students.
