Description:
This course focuses on the study of language disorders from infancy through the preschool years. Students will examine and demonstrate various treatment approaches for prelinguistic skills, emerging language,and conversational language skills. The use of language sampling as an assessment tool, intervention strategy and progress monitoring will be explored. Additional considerations addressed in this course include the interventions of various low-incidence populations, the use of indirect treatment strategies when working with caregivers, and the consideration of multi-cultural issues when providing treatment.
