This course will introduce data driven inference in the physical sciences. Examples of machine learning methods applied to current problems in Physics and the Natural Sciences. Basic computational skills, knowledge of statistical analysis, error analysis, good practices for handling, processing, and analyzing data and (including big-data) programmatically, and communication and visualization skills will be acquired. PREREQ: PHYS207/PHYS227, CISC106 or CISC108, and MATH349.
