This course focuses on common problems found in adolescents and young adults in the primary care setting. Patients are assessed within the home, family, and community setting. Students will develop the skills to effectively screen and identify high risk behaviors. Students are provided with the knowledge and skills to evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage common issues. Health promotion and disease prevention are emphasized. Pathophysiology, assessment, diagnostic tests, management and patient education are reviewed. PREREQ: NURS650, NURS651, NURS652. COREQ: NURS656.
