This upper-level elective course is designed to investigate the biological foundations and ramifications of cancer by exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of this disease. Outside reading material will be used to provide a platform for discussion of common misconceptions and attitudes regarding cancer, with the goal of conveying a broad understanding of the disease from molecular, clinical, historical and personal perspectives. Three lecture hours a week.
