Students will be introduced to the philosophy and history of orientation and mobility, a specialized field in the area of blindness and visual impairment that focuses on developing independent travel skills in individuals who are blind or visually impaired, as they pertain to infants and young children. Basic components of motor development and its interconnectedness to vision, child differences, concept development, assessment, and eliciting and improving movement are emphasized. Prerequisites: "C" or better in SP ED 6410.
