SPT230 (Formerly MGT 227) This course is designed to provide information on managing Sport Facilities and the events that they host. A major emphasis will be on identifying management strategies and tactics while focusing on communication, relationship and leadership theories. Business effectiveness and ethics principles essential within the sport facility & event management culture will be analyzed and discussed. Branding, marketing, selling, customer relations, public relations, media relations, business negotiations scheduling, staff management and the implementation of action plans will be stressed. (3 credits)
