This course introduces the learner to the role of the baccalaureate prepared RN and focuses on the various roles of the professional nurse. Beginning with the historic beginnings of the profession, nursings evolution to a force for societal change is considered. Emphasis is placed on trends and issues in contemporary nursing and includes the evolving realms of professional nursing knowledge. Advanced theoretical concepts will be explored.(3 credits)
