This course reviews the historical foundation of the nursing profession along with the nursing process, legal and ethical issues relating to the nursing profession, and the various roles of the professional nurse in a variety of healthcare settings. A student will be provided information on the meaning and development of therapeutic communication with patients, family members, and healthcare teams (3 CREDITS).
