HSV345 - This course provides an overview of the history, theory, and current research perspectives in the etiology, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral/process addictions. Specific attention will be paid to examining the similarities and differences between chemical/substance addictions and behavioral/process addictions. This course will cover theories of addictive behavior related to behavioral/process addictions including the physiological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects, legal/ethical concerns and most importantly assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan and relapse prevention. 3 credits. Prerequisite: PSY245
