Sport and society is a course that provides students a close examination of the relationship between sport and society. This course introduces the prin- ciples and applications of sport from a sociological perspective, grounded in the powerful culture of the sport globally, the diversity and inclusion of sport organizations at the youth, collegiate, and professional levels. Assessment on the intersection of ethics and values will be explored across social class and sport, race and sport, gender and sport, media and sport, natural environment and sport, violence, and sport, globalization, and sport.
