This course will be an overview of some of the theoretical issues and instructional strategies related to the teaching of the receptive and expressive areas of language learning. In the language arts, interdependent and interrelated aspects of the oral language, listen, writing, visually representing, viewing, reading, and thinking will be focused upon interactively whereby usage in each supplements and reinforces the learning of an in the others. There will also be emphasis placed upon the practical implementation of an integrated language arts program in the classroom within the contexts of Pennsylvania's Standards Aligned System. Ten hours of classroom observations required.
