Emphasis is on the assumptions on which various methodological approaches rest, the appropriateness of various methods in the study of communication behavior and effects, the nature of data and data analysis, and the design of appropriate studies. Students will learn to read published research and design studies appropriate to particular research questions common in the study of communication.
