An introduction to tropical biology, surveying the most common ecosystems, important themes in tropical communities and selected issues involving environmental degradation. A scheduled field trip to a tropical region is required; this will generally occur during Spring Break and constitute the laboratory hours. Three hours lecture. Prerequisite: at least one majors biology course or permission of instructor.
